Put multiple slide shows on one CD - CDs hold 100's of pictures!
A CD holds about
700Mb (700 million characters) of data. The best digital cameras available today (that are still
affordable) are the 5 MegaPixel cameras. Pictures from these cameras are about .8 - 1Mb (800,000
- 1,000,000 characters). These are REALLY big files and are great for printing your pictures. But they
are so big that some email carriers won't even let you attach them to emails. Even if you can, if your friend
or relative gets their email using a dial-up modem, it
will take a LONG time to receive your picture. But you can send 100's of these very large picture
files on a single CD through the postal mail, without frustrating your friends. Plus, your pictures don't
take up any space on their computer.
With potentially 100's
of pictures on one CD, it makes sense to break them up into multiple
slide shows. If you put multiple slide shows on one CD, Digital
PicShare will automatically create a menu so that when the CD is
inserted into the CD player, the menu comes right up, and your
friend or relative just clicks on the slide show they want to
watch.
Be sure to save your slide shows to the root of the CD
drive. For example, if your CD is drive d:, and you want to
call your first slide show "MySummer" and your second slide show
"MyBirthday", then save your first slide show to d:\MySummer.sho,
and your second slide show to d:\MyBirthday.sho.
